A key step in the development of a Cultural Plan for North Bay is completing a process of cultural mapping. To date the mapping process has involved consolidating information from a range of existing sources including Statistics Canada, local Yellow Pages, and a series of local databases. So far this has yielded a total of more than 250 assets in the various categories illustrated in the diagram on the right of this page.
But we know we’ve only scratched the surface and now we need your help in adding to this initial information. In particular, we know that there are many individual artists that are not yet part of the database.
Please go to this link to add your information to the database: https://www.surveymonkey.com/s/Get_on_the_North_Bay_Cultural_Map.

I paint murals in the area and was involved in making Buffet Sculpture over the past 25 or so
years. I do still paint in acrylics and oil at home.
I see you have Municipal Cultural Plan Media Conference…
Do you have plans to include the reginal areas in your mapping? Our group is from Corbeil (East Ferris township), and for the past 2 years we have been involved in coordinating The Art in the Park in North Bay and looking forward to work with North Bay for years to comem as they have expressed themselves…

Lise, we are including North Bay and area information.
I believe ARTISTS belong in the Creative Cultural Occupations Category.
Carole, Artists are definitely included. The chart is meant to get people thinking.
The actual database has many other categories, although I have had many comments about artists being included so we are looking at getting our chart updated!
