Community Partners

The City depends on the contributions of many important cultural, community and business partners. A number of these partners are listed here.

Capitol Centre North Bay’s home for live entertainment, it is a multi-use community based arts facility committed to the development of performing and visual arts. Maximizing the Capitol Centre’s potential is vital to achieving a successful Arts and Entertainment District, which shall include features of all types of arts, entertainment and culture districts and typically feature fine arts such as concert halls, art galleries, as well as libraries, historical museums and educational institutions.
North Bay Public Library The North Bay Public Library will strive to meet the lifelong informational, learning, cultural and recreational needs of the people of North Bay by providing information and related services through access to collections, use of facilities and assistance of staff.
Coordinating Body of Arts, Culture and Heritage (CBACH) CBACH works towards a future where North Bay is a recognized regional leader that celebrates, appreciates and supports arts, culture and heritage; nurtures artistic development; works to preserve the area’s natural and human heritage; and promotes a vibrant cultural identity that is recognized by artists, residents, and visitors alike, acknowledging that arts and culture can be professional or commercial ventures, not just a hobby or craft.
Nipissing Arts Council The Nipissing Arts Council is an incorporated, not for profit organization dedicated to serving artists of all disciplines, arts organizations and the community within the Nipissing District by promoting and advocating for the arts. The Nipissing Arts Council was founded in 2009 in response to the community’s need for an active, dedicated organization to support, promote, unite and advocate for arts within the Nipissing District.
North Bay Art Association Founded in 1977 by a group of enthusiastic local artists, the NBAA is the oldest arts group in North Bay. The group hosts art exhibitions and workshops throughout the year in collaboration with established local art galleries.
Art on Main cooperative A collective of established and emerging artists and artisans from North Bay and surrounding area, run and organized by the members. Supported by Ontario Trillium Foundation, Northern Ontario Heritage Fund Corporation and the Downtown Improvement Area.
Downtown Improvement Area “To preserve and develop the heart of North Bay” was adopted as a mission statement in 1995 and remains the group’s primary objective. The DIA concentrates on tourism, business retention and expansion, and promotions. Festivals and special events are held at various times throughout the year in an effort to increase traffic levels, enhance the profile of the downtown and strengthen investor confidence in the downtown core.
Heritage North Bay Board, Heritage Railway Committee The Heritage Railway & Carousel Co. and The North Bay Heritage Gardeners formed Heritage North Bay, a predominantly volunteer-based organization with the goal of caring for our Waterfront and rail land / park developments.
North Bay & District Chamber of Commerce The mission statement of the organization is: “To be the voice of business committed to the enhancement of economic prosperity and quality of life in North Bay and area”
North Bay & District Multicultural Centre (NBDMC) The mandate of NBDMC is to provide immigrant support services to residents from Mattawa to West Nipissing and Temagami to Parry Sound. The Immigrant Settlement Assistance Program (ISAP) includes cultural awareness initiatives. NBDMC also provides leadership and support for the North Bay Newcomer Network.
